### Author Biography

**Ibtihaj Muhammad** is the first American woman in hijab to compete for the United States in the Olympic Games. She is also the first female Muslim American woman to medal at the Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the saber team event. An award-winning author, activist, and entrepreneur, Ibtihaj has written a memoir, _Proud_, as well as picture books included _The Proudest Blue_, and inspired the first hijabi Barbie, in her likeness. **S.K.
