### Author Biography

**Ramsey Campbell** was born in Liverpool in 1946 and still lives on Merseyside. The Oxford Companion to English Literature describes him as "Britain's most respected living horror writer". He has been given more awards than any other writer in the field, including the **Grand Master Award** of the World Horror Convention, the **Lifetime Achievement Award** of the Horror Writers Association, the **Living Legend Award** of the International Horror Guild and the **World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award**.

In 2015 he was made an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University for outstanding services to literature. Among his novels are _The Face That Must Die_, _Incarnate_, _Midnight Sun_, _The Count of Eleven_, _Silent Children_, _The Darkest Part of the Woods_, _The Overnight_, _Secret Story_, _The Grin of the Dark_, _Thieving Fear_, _Creatures of the Pool_, _The Seven Days of Cain_, _Ghosts Know_, _The Kind Folk_, _Think Yourself Lucky_ and _Thirteen Days by Sunset Beach_. _Needing Ghosts_, _The Last Revelation of Gla'aki_, _The Pretence_ and _The Booking_ are novellas. His collections include _Waking Nightmares_, _Alone with the Horrors_, _Ghosts and Grisly Things_, _Told by the Dead_, _Just Behind You_ and _Holes for Faces_, and his non-fiction is collected as _Ramsey Campbell, Probably_. Limericks of the _Alarming and Phantasmal_ are what they sound like.

His novels _The Nameless_, _Pact of the Fathers_ and _The Influence_ have been filmed in Spain. He is the President of the Society of Fantastic Films.
