Richard Hammond is a writer, filmmaker and founder of the award-winning travel website greentraveller.co.uk. He was previously the _Guardian's_ eco travel correspondent, Editor of _Green Hotelier_ and Travel Editor of _National Geographic GREEN_ and has written about sustainable tourism for a wide range of publications, including _BBC Wildlife_, _National Geographic_, _The Times_, _Sunday Times Travel Magazine_, and _Geographical - the magazine of The Royal Geographical Society (of which he is a fellow)_. Richard has written several books about sustainable travel, including _Green Places to Stay_ (Sawdays) and he was co-author of _Clean Breaks: 500 New Ways to See the World_ (Rough Guides). He was the consultant to the _Guardian Green Travel Guide_ and for the Travel Channel's series 'How to Holiday Greener'.
