### Author Biography

Barb Rosenstock is the author of the Caldecott Honor Book _The Noisy Paint Box_, _Vincent Can't Sleep_, _Through the Window,_ and _Mornings with Monet_, as well as many other books. Her most recent book, _Mystery of the Monarchs_, is a 2023 NCTE Orbis Pictus Recommended Title and a Junior Library Guild Selection. She lives outside of Chicago with her husband, sons, and two big poodles. Barb has always lived near the Great Lakes, and wrote this book to satisfy her lifelong curiosity in their formation.

Jamey Christoph's illustrations have appeared in _The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle_, and in several award winning children's books such as _Bones in the White House_, _Stonewall_, _Up in the Leaves_, and _Outside My Window_. He has received multiple recognitions from the Society of Illustrators, _Communication Arts_, and _3×3 Magazine_. He works out of his 1920's home in Cleveland Heights, OH, where he loves to visit Lake Eerie with his crazy dogs, Jack and Teddy.
