### Author Biography

**Shirley Hazzard** (1931-2016) is the author of _Greene on Capri_, a memoir of Graham Greene, and several works of fiction, including _The Evening of the Holiday_, _The Bay of Noon,_ and _The Transit of Venus_, winner of the 1981 National Book Critics Circle Award. She lived in New York City and Capri.
