### Author Biography

**Stephen G. Bloom** is an award-winning journalist and author of six nonfiction books, _Postville_; _Inside the Writer's Mind_; _The Oxford Project_; _Tears of Mermaids; The Audacity of Inez Burns_; and _Blue Eyes, Brown Eyes._ A former reporter for the _Los Angeles Times_ and _Dallas Morning News,_ he is a professor of journalism at the University of Iowa.
