### Author Biography

**Ibtihaj Muhammad** has written the picture books _The Proudest Blue_ and _The Kindest Red_ and the memoir _Proud._ She is a fencer and the first Muslim American woman in hijab to compete for the United States in the Olympic Games. She is also the first female Muslim American to medal at the Olympic Games, winning bronze in the women's saber team event. **S. K. Ali** is the award-winning author of _Saints and Misfits_ and _Love from A to Z_, co-author of_The Proudest Blue_ and _The Kindest Red,_ and the coeditor of _Once Upon a Eid_.

**Hatem Aly** is an Egyptian-born illustrator whose work has been featured on television and in multiple publications worldwide. Among other books, he illustrated Newbery Honor winning novel _The Inquisitor's Tale_ by Adam Gidwitz and _The Proudest Blue_ and _The Kindest Red_ by Ibtihaj Muhammad and S.K. Ali.
