### Author Biography

**Alec Ryrie** is Professor of the History of Christianity at Durham University. His previous publications include _Protestants_ (2017), _Being Protestant in Reformation Britain_ (2013), _The Sorcerer's Tale_ (2008), _The Origins of the Scottish Reformation_ (2006) and _The Gospel and Henry VIII_ (2003).
