### Author Biography

**Connie Briscoe** is the author of the _New York Times_ bestseller _Big Girls Don't Cry_, as well as _A Long Way from Home_, _Sisters & Lovers_ (a Blackboard bestseller), _P.G. County_, _Money Can't Buy Love_, _You Only Get Better_, and _Jewels_ (with photographer Michael Cunningham). She lives in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Born and raised in South Korea until the age of eight, **Milton Washington** was adopted by a military family and raised throughout rural and urban USA. Milton's unique and multicultural background gives him an uncommon edge and perspective on the people and life experiences he's allured by. His fascination is all translated through the lens of the people, cultures, and happenings he chooses to capture with his still photography. His award-winning work has been featured in _The New York Times_, _Food & Wine,_ and _Videomaker_. And recently, Milton photographed an Afrofuturist fashion shoot for Emmy- and Oscar-nominated costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
