### Author Biography

Palmer Brown (1920-2012) was born in Chicago and attended Swarthmore and the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author and illustrator of five books for children, including _Beyond the Pawpaw Trees_ and its sequel, _The Silver Nutmeg_; _Cheerful_; and _Hickory_\--all forthcoming from The New York Review Children's Collection.
