**Ellie Peterson** is the author and illustrator behind _How to Hug a Pufferfish_. A middle school science teacher by day, author and artist by night, she is inspired by teaching young readers to question how they know what they know. She is also the illustrator of _It's a Round, Round World_ and _The Reason for the Seasons_ by Joulia Copernicus and _Bea's Bees_ written by Katherine Pryor. Ellie lives with her family in Seattle, Washington.
