### Author Biography

**Lauren Elkin** is the author of _Art Monsters_ and _Flâneuse_, which was named a notable book of the year by _The New York Times Book Review_ and was a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. Her work has appeared in many publications, including _The New York Times_, _Granta_, _Le Monde_, and _Frieze_. A native New Yorker, Elkin lived in Paris for twenty years and is now based in London.
