### Author Biography

**Helen Thompson** is a nationally known writer on interior design and architecture. Formerly a food writer and editor for _Texas Monthly_, she was the Texas city editor for _Metropolitan Home_ and has written and produced articles for _Elle Decor_, _Architectural Digest_, _House Beautiful_, _Martha Stewart Living_, _Western Interiors_, _Traditional Home_, _and Veranda_. She is also the author of _Marfa Modern_ and _Texas Made, Texas Modern_ and a contributor to _Hocker 2005-2020 Landscapes,_ all Monacelli titles, as well as _The Big Texas Steakhouse Cookbook_, and _The Mansion on Turtle Creek Cookbook_. She lives in Santa Fe.  

**Casey Dunn** is an Austin-based architectural and landscape photographer whose work has appeared in _Dwell_, the _New York Times Magazine_, _Interior Design_, _Architectural Digest_, _Architectural Record_, and _Paper City Magazine_. He is the photographer for _Marfa Modern_, _Texas Made, Texas Modern_, and _Oasis_ (Potter, 2020).
