### Author Biography

**Alexis Schaitkin**'s short stories and essays have appeared in _Ecotone, Southwest Review,_ _The Southern Review,_ _The_ _New York Times,_ and elsewhere_._ Her fiction has been anthologized in _The Best American Short Stories_ and _The Best American Nonrequired Reading_. She received her MFA in fiction from the University of Virginia, where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow. She lives in Williamstown, Massachusetts, with her husband and son. _Saint X_ is her debut novel.
