### Author Biography

**Kirsti Blom** writes professional prose and fiction books, and is a recognized speaker. Among other things, she has, together with various researchers, written the _Polar series: Fjellreven_ (2003)_The Whale_ (2005), _The Polar Bear_ (nominated for the Brage Prize, 2007), _Snow, Ice and Climate_ (2008), _Svalbardrypa_ (2009), _Seabirds in the Arctic_ (2011), _White Cheese Goose_ (2015), and _Svalbard Train_ (2018).

**Geir Wing Gabrielsen** is a researcher, biologist, and section leader on pollutants at the Norwegian Polar Institute in Tromsø. He is a Norwegian representative in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in the area of marine litter.
