**Alexandra Stafford** graduated from Yale and moved to Philadelphia, where she attended cooking school and worked in professional kitchens. Her first cookbook, _Bread Toast_ _Crumbs_, was nominated for the IACP Julia Child First Book Award. She lives in upstate New York with her husband and four children.
