### Author Biography

KATE LEBO is the author of _Pie School_ and _A Commonplace Book of Pie._ Her essay The Loudproof Room appeared in _New England Review_ and was chosen for _Best American Essays 2015_. Her poems, essays, and recipes have appeared in _Best New Poets_, _Gastronomica_, the _Washington Post, Poetry Northwest_, and elsewhere. She lives in Spokane, Washington.

SAMUEL LIGON is the author of two novels--_Among the Dead and Dreaming_ and _Safe in Heaven Dead--_and two collections of stories, _Wonderland_, illustrated by Stephen Knezovich, and _Drift and Swerve_. He edits the journal _Willow Springs_, teaches at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, and is artistic director of the Port Townsend Writers' Conference. Ligon lives in Spokane, Washington.
