### Author Biography

**J.M. Barrie** (1860-1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright. After finishing school in Scotland, he moved to London, where he met the five Llewelyn Davies boys, to whom he originally told the tale of Peter Peter. In 1904, Barrie wrote the play _Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up_, which was very successful and led to him writing the books we know today. Upon his death, he gave the rights to Peter Pan to London's Great Ormond Street Hospital, a children's hospital.
