### Author Biography

Susan Verde's first picture book, _The Museum_, illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds, was a Bank Street Best Book of the Year. _Booklist_ praised, "The rhymed text captures the excitement of a being sparked by art." Her other books include _You and Me_, _I Am_ _Yoga_, _The Water Princess_, and _I Am Peace_, all illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds; as well as _Rock 'n' Roll Soul_, illustrated by Caldecott Medalist Matthew Cordell; _My Kicks,_ illustrated by Katie Kath; and _Hey, Wall,_ illustrated by John Parra_._ Susan is a former elementary school teacher with a Master's degree in reading remediation. Alexis Romay is the author of two novels and two books of poetry. His essays and opinion pieces have been published by _NBC News_, _World Literature Today_, Museum of Modern Art, _El Nuevo Herald_, _Latino Rebels_, _Hypermedia Magazine_, _Replicante_, _Letras Libres_, and other outlets. He has written lyrics for Paquito D'Rivera and translated over forty picture books, as well as novels by Ana Veciana-Suarez, Margarita Engle, Miguel Correa Mujica, Meg Medina, Stuart Gibbs, and Adrianna Cuevas. He lives in New Jersey with his family.
