Alexandra Horowitz is the author of the #1 _New York Times_ bestseller _Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know_; _Being a Dog: Following the Dog into a World of Smell_; _Our Dogs, Ourselves: The Story of a Singular Bond_; and _The Year of the Puppy: How Dogs Become Themselves_. She teaches at Barnard College, where she runs the Dog Cognition Lab. She lives with her family of _Homo sapiens_, _Canis familiaris_, and _Felis catus_ in New York City.
