### Author Biography

**Patrick Parr** is the author of _The Seminarian_: _Martin Luther King Jr. Comes of Age_, and a history columnist for _Japan Today_. Other work has appeared in _The Atlantic_, _Politico_, _American History Magazine_, and the _Boston Globe._ In 2014 he was awarded an Artist Trust Fellowship for his literary career.
