The general story has been adapted and modernized from the original Dickens (and a lengthy process) including adapted and modernized extracts from _Nicholas Nickleby_ (Dothhall boys school) and _Great Expectations_ (Miss Haversham) and a dream adaptation from _Christmas Carol._

There is also an abridged and modernized _Pickwick Papers_ inside _Olivia Twist_ as she does time in prison and where she records audio stories as part of prison work.
