**China Miéville** is the multi-award-winning author of many works of fiction and non-fiction. His fiction includes _The City and the City_, _Embassytown_ and _This Census-Taker_. He has won the Hugo, World Fantasy, and Arthur C. Clarke awards. His non-fiction includes the photo-illustrated essay _London's Overthrow_ and _Between Equal Rights_, a study of international law. He has written for various publications, including the _New York Times_, _Guardian_, _Conjunctions_ and _Granta_, and he is a founding editor of the quarterly _Salvage_.
