His first book, _My Beverly Hills Kitchen_, and first Rizzoli cookbook, _The Art of the Host_, are widely popular. He is a contributing editor for _Town & Country_ and writes regularly for _C Magazine, Quest,_ and _Southern Living._ Hitz is a former food editor for _House Beautiful_, a post he assumed from Ina Garten.
