**Alison Espach** is the author of the novel _The Adults_, a _New York Times_ Editors' Choice and a Barnes & Noble Discover pick. Her short stories and essays have appeared in _Vogue, Joyland, Glamour_, _Salon_, and _McSweeney's,_ among other places. She is currently a professor of creative writing at Providence College in Rhode Island.
