### Author Biography

KWAME ONWUACHI is a James Beard Award-winning chef, who was raised in the Bronx, Nigeria, and Louisiana. A former contest and now a recurring judge on _Top Chef_, Onwuachi has been named _Esquire_'s Chef of the Year, one _of Food & Wine_'s Best New Chefs, and a 30 Under 30 honoree by both _Zagat_ and _Forbes_. He trained at the Culinary Institute of America and opened five restaurants before turning thirty. Onwuachi is the author of _Notes from a Young Black Chef_. JOSHUA DAVID STEIN is a Brooklyn-based author and journalist. He is the co-author of _Notes from a Young Black Chef_, with Kwame Onwuachi; _Il Buco: Stories and Recipes_ with Donna Lennard; and _The Nom Wah Cookbook_ with Wilson Tang and the author of _Cooking for Your Kids_.
