### Author Biography

Brandon Stosuy is the cofounder and editor in chief of _The Creative Independent_, published by Kickstarter. He previously worked as director of Editorial Operations at _Pitchfork_. Brandon curates the annual Basilica SoundScape festival in Hudson, New York, and has been a music curator at both MoMA PS1 in New York City and the Broad museum in Los Angeles. He is the author of three books on creativity, _Make Time for Creativity_, _Stay Inspired_, _How to Fail Successfully_, and two children's books, _Music Is..._ and _We Are Music_. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

Amy Martin is an award-winning illustrator and art director. Amy wrote and illustrated the picture book _Symphony City_, and she has contributed work to _McSweeney's_, _Portland Monthly_, the _Los Angeles Times_, the _Detroit Free Press_, Rock the Vote, Manifest Hope, Death Cab for Cutie, Sufjan Stevens, and St. Vincent.
