### Author Biography

Born in Sydney in 1974, **Matthew Reilly** is the internationally bestselling author of the Scarecrow novels: _Ice Station_, _Area 7_, _Scarecrow_, _Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves_ and the novella _Hell Island_; the Jack West novels: _The Seven Ancient Wonders_, _The Six Sacred Stones_, _The Five Greatest Warriors, The Four Legendary Kingdoms__, The Three Secret Cities,_ and _The Two Lost Mountains_; and the standalone novels _Contest_, _Temple_, _Hover Car Racer_, _The Tournament_, _Troll Mountain,_ _The Great Zoo of China_ and _The Secret Runners of New York_.

His books are published in over 20 languages with worldwide sales of over 8 million copies. Since _The Seven Ancient Wonders_ in 2005, Matthew's novels have been the biggest selling new fiction title released in Australia for that year.
