Gyanendra Pandey is Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of History at Emory University and author of _A History of Prejudice: Race, Caste, and Difference in India and the United States_, _Remembering Partition: Violence, Nationalism, and History in India_, and _The Construction of Communalism in Colonial North India_, among other books.
