### Author Biography

Monroe Leaf, born in 1905, was the author and illustrator of dozens of children's books. _Manners Can Be Fun_ is considered his second most popular book after _The Story of Ferdinand_, the gentle tale of a peaceful bull. Munro Leaf died in 1976 at the age of 71.
