### Author Biography

**Bill Gove** is a retired forester with a keen interest in railroading and the history of the lumber industry. He is the author or coauthor of numerous books, including _Granite Railroads of Vermont_, _Sky Route to the Quarries_, _Log Drives on the Connecticut River_, _J.E. Henry's Logging Railroads_, and _Logging Railroads of the Saco River Valley_. He has contributed many articles to _Northern Logger_, _Vermont Life_, and _Timber Times_.
