### Author Biography

Jonah Winter has written many highly acclaimed books for children, including _You Never Heard of Sandy Koufax?!,_ which was named an ALA-ALSC Notable Children's Book and a _Booklist_ Top of the List, and _You Never Heard of Willie Mays?!,_ which received four starred reviews and was named a _Bulletin_ Blue Ribbon Book. His other books include _Here Comes the Garbage Barge!,_ a _New York Times_ Best Illustrated Book; _Barack,_ a _New York Times_ bestseller; and _Dizzy,_ recipient of Best Book of the Year citations from _Booklist, School Library Journal, The Horn Book Magazine, The Bulletin,_ and _Kirkus Reviews._ Jonah divides his time between Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a small town in Pennsylvania.

Shane W. Evans is the author and illustrator of numerous books for children, including _We March_ and _Underground: Finding the Light to Freedom,_ which received the Coretta Scott King Illustration Award. He has illustrated more than thirty picture books, including _Osceola: Memories of a Sharecropper's Daughter_ by Alan Govenar, winner of the _Boston Globe-Horn Book_ Award for Nonfiction. Shane lives in Kansas City, Missouri, where he runs Dream Studio, a community art space.
