### Author Biography

Philippe Besson is an author, screenwriter, and playwright. His first novel, _In the Absence of Men_, was awarded the Emmanuel-Roblès Prize in 2001, and he is also the author of, among others, _Late Autumn_ (Grand Prize RTL-Lire), _A Boy from Italy_, and _The Atlantic House_. In 2017 he published _Lie With Me_, a #1 French bestseller that won the the Maisons de la Presse Prize, and _A Character from a Novel_, an intimate portrait of Emmanuel Macron during his presidential campaign. His novels have been translated into twenty different languages.

Molly Ringwald's writing has appeared in _The New Yorker_, _The New York Times_, _The Guardian_, and _Vogue_, and she is the author of the bestselling novel-in-stories _When It Happens to You_. She previously translated _Lie with Me_, a novel by Philippe Besson.
