### Author Biography

**Niki Segnit**'s first book, _The Flavor Thesaurus_, won the Andre Simon Award for best food book, the Guild of Food Writers Award for best first book, and was shortlisted for the Galaxy National Book Awards. It has been translated into thirteen languages. On BBC Radio 4, she has contributed to _The Food Programme_, _Woman's Hour_, and _Word of Mouth_, and her columns, features, and reviews have appeared in the _Guardian_, the _Observer_, the _Times_, the _Times Literary Supplement_, the _Sunday Times_, and _Prospect Magazine_. She lives in London with her husband and two children.
