### Author Biography

Simon Stålenhag (b. 1984) is the internationally acclaimed author and artist behind _The_ _Electric State,_ _Tales from the Loop,_ and _Things from the Flood_.

His highly imaginative images and stories depicting illusive sci-fi phenomena in mundane, hyper-realistic Scandinavian and American landscapes have made Stålenhag one of the most sought-after visual storytellers in the world.

_Tales from the Loop_ was ranked one of the "10 Best Dystopias" by The Guardian, along with such works as Franz Kafka's _The Trial_ and Andrew Niccol's _Gattaca_.

The settings of his artwork formed the basis for the 2020 Amazon television drama series _Tales from the Loop_. His graphic novel _The Electric State_ was adapted into the 2025 Netflix film _The Electric State._
