### Author Biography

James Mottram is a film critic, journalist, and author. He has written several books on cinema, including _The Making of Memento_, _The Sundance Kids_, and, for Insight Editions, _The Making of Dunkirk_, _Die Hard: The Ultimate Visual History_, _The Secrets of Tenet: Inside Christopher Nolan's Quantum Cold War_, and _Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Visual History_. He has also contributed to numerous critical anthologies, on everything from Japanese cinema to war movies, and is a regular on movie podcast Inside Total Film. He lives in London.

J. A. BAYONA is the director of two of the most internationally acclaimed and award-winning Spanish films, The Orphanage (2007) and The Impossible (2012). Creator of several short films and cult videos, he also is the director of the first two episodes of the Showtime television series Penny Dreadful. A Monster Calls is his third feature film. He lives in Barcelona, Spain.
