### Author Biography

**Raúl Nieto Guridi** has created many books for children, including _The King of Nothing_ (New York Review Books), _A Drop of the Sea_ (Kids Can), and _The Day I Became a Bird_ (Kids Can). His works have been selected for special mention for the Bologna Ragazzi Award and for inclusion in the USBBY Outstanding International Books list. _It's So Difficult_ was shaped by Guridi's experiences with students as a secondary school teacher. He lives in Spain.

**Lawrence Schimel** is an author, anthologist, publisher, and translator of books in both Spanish and English. His works have received many awards, including the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award, a PEN Translates Award, and the GLIL Translated YA Book Prize Honor. Lawrence lives in Madrid, Spain, and New York City.
