### Author Biography

**Elena Ferrante** is the author of _The Days of Abandonment_ (Europa, 2005), which was made into a film directed by Roberto Faenza, _Troubling Love_ (Europa, 2006), adapted by Mario Martone, and _The Lost Daughter_ (Europa, 2008), soon to be a film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She is also the author of _Incidental Inventions_ (Europa, 2019), illustrated by Andrea Ucini, _Frantumaglia: A Writer's Journey_ (Europa, 2016) and a children's picture book illustrated by Mara Cerri, _The Beach at Night_ (Europa, 2016). The four volumes known as the "Neapolitan quartet" (_My Brilliant Friend_, _The Story of a New Name_, _Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay_, and _The Story of the Lost Child_) were published by Europa Editions in English between 2012 and 2015. _My Brilliant Friend_, the HBO series directed by Saverio Costanzo, premiered in 2018.
