### Author Biography

**Shirley Vernick**'s novel _The Blood Lie_ was named to the Best Fiction for Young Adults list from the American Library Association. It also received the Simon Wiesenthal Once Upon a World Children's Award and the Sydney Taylor Honor Book Award. _The Black Butterfly_, her most recent novel, is a Junior Library Guild selection. Her book _Boston Baby_ was released by duopress in 2016. **Molly Bergin** is an illustrator and designer based in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in illustration. Molly's illustrations have been published in _Charleston Magazine_ and she has participated in competitions with the Society of Illustrators. Her work spans into multiple markets and can be seen in magazines, children's books, and greeting cards, and perhaps even on the T-shirt you are wearing.
