### Author Biography

**Eva Chen** is a first-generation Chinese-American who grew up in New York City. She blames her deviation from pre-med at Johns Hopkins University on a love of fashion and beauty instilled in her by her mother, whose perfect bob and lipstick made a permanent imprint on her impressionable young mind. Previously the editor in chief of _Lucky_, Eva has also written for _ELLE_, _Vogue_, _Teen Vogue_, _Vogue China_, the _New York Times_, and the _Wall Street Journal_. She is currently the head of fashion partnerships at Instagram, where she is guilty of the occasional duck-face selfie. Eva lives in New York City with her husband and two children. She is the _New York Times-_bestselling author of multiple children's books, including _Juno Valentine and the Magical Shoes_; _A Is for Awesome!_; _Roxy the Last Unisaurus Rex_; and _I Am Golden_.

**Sophie Diao** is an artist living in San Francisco. She's the illustrator of multiple picture books, including _I Am the Wind_, _Sarah and the Big Wave_, and _I Am Golden_, and is the talent behind many a Google Doodle.
