### Author Biography

**MARILYNNE ROBINSON** is the author of _Gilead_, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Critics Circle Award, and _Home_, winner of the Orange Prize and a finalist for the National Book Award. _Housekeeping_ won the PEN/Hemingway Award. Her nonfiction includes _Absence of Mind_, _The Death of Adam_, _Mother Country_, nominated for a National Book Award, and _When I Was a Child I Read Books_. She teaches at the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
