### Author Biography

**Kyle Newman** is an author and award-winning filmmaker who has directed numerous feature films including the _Star Wars_\-fueled comedy _Fanboys,_ A24 Films' _Barely Lethal,_ the e-sports comedy _1UP,_ and the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons documentary for Hasbro, Inc. He has directed the music industry's top artists, and produced films such as _Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made._ As an author, he is known for his work on _Dungeons & Dragons: Art & Arcana,_ the _New York Times_ bestselling cookbook _Heroes' Feast,_ and its follow-up, _Heroes' Feast Flavors of the Multiverse._ An honors graduate of NYU's Tisch School of Film/Television and a member of the Directors Guild of America, Newman resides in Los Angeles with his partner, Cynthia, and their three sons.  
  
**Jon Peterson** is widely recognized as an authority on the history of games, best known as the author of _Playing at the World_, _The Elusive Shift_, and _Game Wizards_. Jon also has written for various geek culture websites, including _Wired, Polygon,_ and _BoingBoing,_ as well as maintaining his own blog.  
  
**Michael Witwer** is a _New York Times_ bestselling author known for his work on the Hugo-nominated _Dungeons & Dragons: Art & Arcana,_ the critically acclaimed _Empire of Imagination: Gary Gygax and the Birth of Dungeons & Dragons,_ and the bestselling _Heroes' Feast: The Official Dungeons & Dragons Cookbook._ His most recent works include _Dungeons & Dragons: The Legend of Drizzt Visual Dictionary_, _Heroes' Feast Flavors of the Multiverse,_ and his debut novel, _Vivian Van Tassel and the Secret of Midnight Lake_. **Sam Witwer** is an American actor and musician, best-known for a series of sci-fi genre roles spanning a twenty-year career. He led the SyFy drama series _Being Human,_ playing down-and-out vampire-gone-straight Aidan Waite (8+3 Hit Dice), and played conflicted Raptor Pilot Crashdown in the Hugo Award-winning series _Battlestar Galactica,_ Superman-killing Doomsday in CW's _Smallville,_ misunderstood Mr. Hyde in ABC's _Once Upon a Time,_ and antagonist Agent Liberty on WB's _Supergirl._ Sam is also well-known for his continuing work for the _Star Wars_ saga, bringing various characters to life in video games, film, and television, including Starkiller in _Star Wars: The Force Unleashed,_ and a multi-year, Emmy-nominated run voicing the villainous ex-Sith lord Darth Maul. Recently, Sam served as the main character in Sony's _Days Gone_ videogame.
