### Author Biography

**Maria Gianferrari** is the author of several picture books, including _Coyote Moon_, which she published with Roaring Brook Press. For Maria, hello is sunshine after a snowstorm, the scent of cinnamon, and happy greetings from her beloved mutt, Becca. Maria lives in northern Virginia with Becca, her scientist husband, and her artist daughter.

**Patrice Barton** is the illustrator of over twenty picture and chapter books, including the award-winning picture books _MINE!_ by Shutta Crum and _The Invisible Boy_ by Trudy Ludwig. Her chapter books include the Junior Library Guild selections _The Year of the Three Sisters: An Anna Wang Novel_ by Andrea Cheng and _The Naming of Tishkin Silk_ by Glenda Millard. Patrice makes her home in Austin, Texas, with her husband and her sweet dog, Archer.
