### Author Biography

E.L. Konigsburg is the only author to have received the Newbery Medal and a Newbery Honor in the same year. In 1968, _From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler_ won the Newbery Medal and _Jennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth_ was named a Newbery Honor Book. Almost thirty years later she won the Newbery Medal once again for _The View from Saturday_. Among her other acclaimed books are _Silent to the Bone_, _The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place_, and _A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver._
