# Friends Learn about Tobin - Hardcover

by **Diane Murrell** (Author), **Clara Thibeaux** (Designed by)

Tobin's friends meet him halfway In Diane Murrell's first book, _Tobin Learns to Make Friends_, Tobin made special changes in himself in order to be friendly toward his playmates. Now, Tobin's friends try to understand where he is coming from. The charming trains learn that a little extra kindness can put them all on the same "track." Parents and teachers will find both books useful in teaching mutual understanding. _Friends Learn About Tobin_ shows how Tobin's friends accept and appreciate his differences, such as discomfort with change, repetitious behavior, a knack for numbers, a photographic memory, literal interpretation of words, and sensitivity to noises and crowds.

### Author Biography

Originally from Northern Ireland, Diane Murrell works, plays, and does research as a social worker in Houston, Texas. She has four indomitable sons who tease her mercilessly, one of whom inspired this book. Diane has a heart for mothers and children to find their place in the community, and will tame monsters and slay dragons to help this happen through her life and work. In addition to the _Tobin_ series, she is author of _Oliver Onion_, a children's book and study guide about self-acceptance.
