### Author Biography

**Emily Rapp Black** is the author of _Poster Child: A Memoir_ and _The Still Point of the Turning World_, a _New York Times_ bestseller and an Editors' Pick. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including _Vogue_; _The New York Times_; _Time_; _The Wall Street Journal_; _O, The Oprah Magazine_; and the _Los Angeles Times_. She is a regular contributor to _The New York Times Book Review_ and is the nonfiction editor of the _Los Angeles Review of Books_. Rapp is currently an associate professor of creative writing at the University of California, Riverside, where she also teaches medical narratives in the university's School of Medicine.
