Originally trained as a chemist at the universities of Oxford, York, and Alberta, **Adam Hart-Davis** is a freelance writer and broadcaster - he has presented television programs _Tomorrow's World_, _Local Heroes_, and many others. He has collected various awards for both television and radio, as well as four medals and 14 honorary doctorates. He is the author of over 30 titles including _Pavlov's Dog_ and _Schrödinger's Cat_.
