### Author Biography

**Sonia Shah** is a science journalist and prizewinning author. Her writing on science, politics, and human rights has appeared in _The_ _New York Times_, _The Wall Street Journal_, _Foreign_ _Affairs_, _Scientific American_, and elsewhere, and she has been featured on _Radiolab_, _Fresh Air_, and TED.com, where her talk "Three Reasons We Still Haven't Gotten Rid of Malaria" has been viewed by more than a million people around the world. Her book _The Fever_ was long-listed for the Royal Society's Winton Prize for Science Books, and _Pandemic_ was named a finalist for the _Los Angeles Times_ Book Prize and a _New York Times Book Review_ Editor's Choice. Her next book, _The Great Migration_, is forthcoming in June 2020.
