### Author Biography

**Meena Kandasamy** is a poet, fiction writer, translator and activist who was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She has published two collections of poetry, _Touch_ and _Ms. Militancy_, and the critically acclaimed novel, _Gypsy Goddess_. Her second novel, _When I Hit You_, was shortlisted for the Women's Prize for fiction 2018.
