### Author Biography

**Carla Funk** was born and raised in one of the earliest Mennonite settlements in Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada. She is the author of five books of poetry, the former poet laureate for the City of Victoria, and a recipient of the _Malahat Review_'s Constance Rooke Nonfiction Prize.
